History & Mission

Our Mission

Elite Tournaments endeavors to provide professionalism to youth sporting events through organizational efficiency, specialized management, and operational proficiency.

25 Years of Excellence

Elite Tournaments was founded in 2000 by Michael Libber, who was seeking a way to support his U12 soccer team in covering the costs of attending their first out-of-state tournament. To raise funds, Libber organized a small tournament for teams within his age group. The event, which hosted 10 teams, was considered a success by all participants. Based on this positive response, Libber was encouraged to continue managing the event within the larger tournament circuit.

The following year, the event expanded to over 60 teams, marking a significant milestone. It was clear that there was growing demand, and Elite Tournaments was officially born. Over the past 25 years, the company has organized more than 1,100 youth soccer events for clubs, colleges, international teams, and professional organizations. In 2020, Elite Tournaments expanded its focus to the sport of lacrosse, managing over 37 successful youth lacrosse events since then.

Headquartered in West Friendship, MD, Elite Tournaments has become a key player in the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly in youth soccer and lacrosse. In addition to its strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic, the company has expanded nationwide, organizing events in over 28 states. Elite Tournaments has established valuable partnerships with major organizations in the youth sports world, including the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), Girls Academy League (GA), Development Player League (DPL), and Elite Academy League (EA League).

Elite Tournaments attributes much of its success to the expertise and experience of its management and staff. The company is committed to building new relationships and is always open to exploring inquiries, requests, and proposals from organizations. While soccer and lacrosse remain its primary focus, Elite Tournaments also has experience in other sports markets, such as field hockey and road races. Known for its exceptional organization and communication, Elite Tournaments creates memorable experiences for teams, players, coaches, and spectators.
