Teams will be required to present at registration:
1.A copy of your USYS State Association or US Club approved roster to be submitted to the tournament committee

2. Player passes for every participating player
3. Medical releases for every participatingplayer
4. Guest players and information added to the bottom of the roster being submitted(if applicable)
5. A copy of the state association's permission to travel.
Permission to travel is not needed forteams traveling within Region I, except for teams from New Jersey and Connecticut, or as dictated by the state association.

 

General Information:
The OBGC Capital Cup would like to invite your team to participate in the 2010 event. Last year we invited over 300 teams to participate over a 3 day weekend during Labor Day. Most games will be played on one of 4 sites for every bracket: Freeman Fields at OBGC Park, Northrop Field at Covenant Park, Howard Community College and Muldoon Farms / Poolesville Polo Grounds.

This premier event is played in Olney and Columbia, which are conveniently located forty-five minutes from the Mall in the nation's capital and the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

Most U12-U19 full-sided games will be played at the three newest and finest soccer complexes in Maryland: Freeman Fields at OBGC Park, the Northrop Fields at Covenant Park and Muldoon Farm Fields.

Levels of Play:

Premier: Division 1 teams
Elite: Division 1-2 teams
Classic: Division 3-4 teams
Challenge: Division 4 and lower team

Eligibility The tournament is open to all Club level teams. RECREATIONAL TEAMS AND PLAYERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.

USYS Sanctioned Tournament the OBGC Capital Cup is open to league and premier teams. The tournament is a USYS-sanctioned tournament through the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA). All teams must be affiliated with either USYS or US Club soccer and must be in good standing with their state association or US Club Soccer. Age Group divisions are for the 2010/2011 seasonal year.

US Club Soccer - US Club soccer teams are invited to apply!

Application/Fees/Acceptance: a separate online application, and submission of payment for each team must be submitted by July 15, 2010.

The registration certificate along with the entry fee must be received by Elite Tournaments for an application to be considered complete. The entry fees are as followed:

$575 for U9-U10 (7v7)

$600 for U11-U12 (8v8)

$750 for U12 (11v11)

$775 for U13-U15

$795 for U16-U19

All applications must be post marked by July 15, 2010 to be considered for acceptance. All applications and fees received after July 15th will be placed on our waiting list.

Notice of acceptance and non-acceptance will be sent by July 25, 2010.

Tournament Roster/Guest Player Policy:

Participation is open to accepted teams meeting the roster limit and player age limit as defined by US Soccer Guidelines and the tournaments’ permission to host. 

    U9 and U10 will play small-sided (7 v7) with a maximum roster of fourteen (14) players.

    U11 and U12 will play either small-sided (8v8) with a maximum roster of fourteen (14) players or full-sided (11v11) with a maximum of eighteen (18) players, depending on the flight listed on the application.

    (Attention all US Youth Soccer/Maryland registered U12 teams: only non-MSYSA rostered teams may enter and participate in the 11v11 division. See Rules for details).

    U13 through U15 will play full-sided (11 v 11) with a maximum roster of eighteen (18) players.

    U16 – U19  will play full-sided (11v11) with a maximum roster of twenty-two (22) players. Teams that use the 22 man roster may only dress a total of 18 players per game. All players over the 18 designated players must not be dressed in uniform or colors close to the uniform.

Teams requesting to use guest players may have no more than 18 players, whose number may include up to 3 guest players. U9 and U10 teams and U11 teams playing 8v8 may have no more than 14 players, whose number may include up to 3 guest players.

Format/Competition/Rules/Awards The tournament offers divisions for U9 through U19 boys and girls.

Minimum of three games is guaranteed.

Qualifying matches will be played Saturday and Sunday morning with Finals on Monday.
*Friday Matches may be played if teams are available and request.

Boys and Girls U12 may register for either 8v8 or 11v11. 7v7 and 8v8 will be played on 50x80 fields with 6x18 goals.

All games shall be played in accordance with FIFA Laws, except as specifically modified by Tournament Rules. A complete set of rules will is posted on the tournament web site.

Individual player trophies will be presented to all champions and finalists.

Referees USSF three man referee system will be used for all U13 through U16 games (11v11 format).

Registration Team registration will be announced. Certified 2010/2011 rosters, player passes, Non-NOTARIZED medical release forms and Permission to Travel forms (Only teams from outside Region I, NJ and CT teams need permission to travel forms) will be checked at this time. All players must have a player pass for 2010/2011 approved by a duly authorized registrar of their state association or US Club Soccer.

Hotel Accommodations Out-of-state teams requiring overnight hotel accommodations are required to stay at OBGC accepted hotels and use our hosting tournament housing service. This will ensure that teams receive the highest quality service during the tournament, and in case the tournament is canceled in its entirety, tournament hotel cancellation is included with the tournament housing service. Any team not using our booking agency will not be accepted into the tournament and will risk loosing their application fees.

Tournament Cancellation Policy In the event the entire tournament is cancelled, the tournament's policy is to refund entry fees after all costs are covered.
